As we slowly enter the year 2021, everyone is very cautious not knowing what to expect. The pandemic taught most of us the importance of our health and wellbeing. With gyms closing down for a portion of 2020, a lot of people had to adapt and find alternative ways to stay fit. The pandemic really changed consumer behavior and Healthline magazine wrote the article, “9 Fitness Trends to Expect in 2021.” Here is a summary:


Ø People enjoyed working out at home and many will continue with the trend. They realized that exercising at home and buying a few items can be less expensive than gym memberships


Ø Apps and YouTube exercise videos are becoming more popular and a lot of them are free of charge and do not need expensive equipment.


Ø High end workout equipment like Peloton increased in sales so consumers can have a customized workout


Ø Fitness consumers are buying more high-end products that help post workout in relaxing muscles and increasing relaxation.


Ø Wearable devices that help track overall health from exercise, nutrition, sleep and stress.


Ø An increase in attention to both exercise and the mind to reduce stress, therefore the yoga and other mind-body activities are becoming more popular.


Ø Virtual training can be accessed from around the world with live sessions or pre-recorded ones


Ø The gaming industry also has lots of opportunity for people to move and stay fit. One of the beauties in gaming is that you can play alone, with friends or meet and play with other gamers online.


Ø An increase in activities that you do alone, such as cycling and playing golf .
